Meet Our Administrators
Our principal is Dr. Kim Street Coady. She has lived in Newton County her entire life. Dr. Coady graduated from Newton County High School and then Clayton State College with a degree in dental hygiene. Dr. Coady was a dental hygienist for many years before deciding to enter the teaching field. She graduated from Georgia College in 1995 and began teaching at Heard-Mixon Elementary School where she taught 2nd and 4th grade. In 2001, Dr. Coady was named Newton County’s Teacher of the Year. Dr. Coady holds a Master’s and Specialist’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia College. Additionally, she holds specialist certification in leadership, reading, and English as a Second Language. Dr. Coady graduated from Georgia State University with a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning/Language and Literacy in 2007. Dr. Coady is married to Steve Coady and they have two children. Erin is a third grade teacher with the Newton County School System and is married to Chris Kinard. Will works for the Newton County Water Authority. Dr. Coady enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Dr. Coady enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Reading, scrapbooking, and shopping are her favorite hobbies! She also enjoys teaching students at Georgia State University where she is an adjunct professor.
Ms. Green is a veteran educator with a strong passion for teaching children and supporting teachers. Ms. Green has her Ed. S in Educational Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University, Masters Degree from Temple University, and BA from Clark Atlanta University. Ms. Green has 12 years teaching experience from Michigan, Gwinnett County and Newton County school systems. Her GA educator certification includes; Mathematics Specialist, Early Childhood, and Middle Grades. She has taught various grades from K, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and ESOL. Ms. Green has had extensive work experience in Title I Schools with diverse populations. Her leadership experiences include: Assistant Principal (part-time), School-Wide Curriculum Leader, Mentor-Leader, Instructional Coach, Professional Learning Instructor, Title I Coordinator, Parent Involvement Coordinator and School Testing Coordinator. She is a highly motivated, innovative leader with strong interpersonal skills. She is a highly-motivated educator with strong values and beliefs in education.
