Application for reduced price and free lunch tickets may be made through the Cafeteria Manager.  Students may not use another student's ticket.  Students may bring their lunches from home, but all consumption must occur in the cafeteria.  Breakfast will be served between 7:45 am and 8:15 am.

The School Food and Nutrition Program provides Newton County students with an opportunity to have low-cost, high-quality, nutritious meals each school day. In the 1999-2000 school year, over 1.85 million meals will be served by a staff of appropriately 100 employees.

School breakfasts and lunches provide well-balanced meals and encourage students to acquire healthy eating habits. All schools adjust food preparation techniques to reduce sugar, salt, and fat. Choice menus are offered at breakfast and lunch time in each school. Students who participate in the breakfast program, or have a good breakfast at home, are more alert and better prepared to learn. The School Food and Nutrition Program is part of the total education package offered to Newton County students. Because nutritional status affects the ability to achieve, school nutrition programs help students.
