The organization of the
instructional program supports grade level teams of teachers
who collaborate to provide developmentally appropriate
learning experiences and activities for all students.
Teachers have planning time to further enhance the
preparation for instruction. Textbooks are State approved
and adopted system wide. State and locally approved
curriculum objectives provide the framework for instruction
in math, reading, writing, spelling, science, social
studies, and health. Physical education, music, and art
education are also offered throughout the week to all
students in grades one through five. The CHAMPS and 4-H programs are also offered.
The Early Intervention
Program (EIP) provides additional help to kindergarten through
fifth-grade students who require additional instructional
assistance. Special education programs are also available in
both self-contained and resource settings for students with
individualized education plans. Gifted students are offered
enrichment classes through the Quest program.
